ასოცირებული პროფესორი, ფსიქიკური ჯანმრთელობა
მარინა გეგელაშვილმა 1986 წელს დაამთავრა თბილისის სახელმწიფო სამედიცინო ინსტიტუტის სამკურნალო ფაკულტეტი და იმავე წელს რეზიდენტურა გააგრძელა მ. ასათიანის სახელობის ფსიქიატრიის სამეცნიერო კვლევით ინსტიტუტში. 1997 წელს დაამთავრა მოსკოვის დიპლომის შემდგომი სწავლების აკადემია ბავშვთა და მოზარდთა ფსიქიატრიის სპეციალიზაციით, ხოლო 2005-2007 წლებში ვილნიუსის უნივერსიტეტში გაიარა ბავშვთა და მოზარდთა ფსიქიკური ჯანმრთელობისა და ბავშვთა ადრეული რეაბილიტაციის კურსები. 2014-2015 წლებში იყო ფულბრაიტის გაცვლითი პროგრამის მონაწილე იდენტობის კვლევების მიმართულებით მაიამის უნივერსიტეტში. მისმა ნაშრომმა „Religious Exclusivity and Psychosocial Functioning“ დიდი ინტერესი და გამოხმაურება ჰპოვა საერთაშორისო კონფერენციებზე. ამჟამად მუშაობს კვლევებზე იდენტობის პროცესების და სტატუსების შესწავლა საქართველოს მოზარდების სხვადასხვა ემოციური და ქცევითი აშლილობების მოზარდებში, ასევე – აუტიზმის მქონე ბავშვების მშობლებში. კვლევები მნიშვნელოვანია ფსიქოპრევენციის დაგეგმვის მეთოდების შემუშავებისათვის, რაც მორგებული იქნება საქართველოს კონტექსტს. არის ილიას სახელმწიფო უნივერსიტეტის ასოცირებული პროფესორი, უნივერსიტეტთან არსებული ბავშვის განვითარების ინსტიტუტის კონსულტანტი და აუტიზმის შემსწავლელი ჯგუფის ხელმძღვანელი. ამასთან, ნეიროგანვითარების ცენტრში ხელმძღვანელობს მენტალური ჯანმრთელობის დეპარტამენტს.
