Darejan Japaridze enrolled in the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics in 1977 and graduated in 1982 with honors. Henceforth, she has been working at Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory. She defended her dissertation on the thesis of “Investigation of Solar Differential Rotation by Analyzing of Rotation Rates of Hydrogen Filaments” and  was awarded  the Ph.D degree in 1998. Between 2010 and 2014, she worked as an Assistant Professor of the School of Natural Sciences and Engineering at Ilia State University. She has been an Associate Professor since 2015. Is author of more than 40 scientific publications. At different times, she has participated in international conferences and expeditions for observations of a total solar eclipse. She also took part in projects financed by the international grants programmes and local scientific funds.
