Graduated from Tbilisi State University in 1987. Holds BA in History and Societal Studies. Defended diploma in Archaeology (top grade), thesis on “Early Settlements in Mesopotamia: Stages of Development”. Worked for the Center for Archaeological Studies in 1987-2003. Participated in different archaeological expeditions within Georgia. Was assigned as a Secretary at the Department of Archaeological Services during 1998-2001. Worked for BTC/SCP Pipeline Companies (BP Georgia) as a Cultural Heritage Monitor and Adviser during 2003-2008. In 2014 received Ph.D. (Summa Cum Laude) degree in Archaeology at Ilia State University, thesis on “Cultural Landscapes of Iberia: Mtskheta Area Settlement Patterns in the 1st century B.C. – 3rd century AD.” Visiting scholar at the Department of Anthropology, UC Berkeley between 2011-13. Member of Society for American Archaeology in 2011-13. Post-doctoral research at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Winner of Fulbright post-doctoral scholarship 2015-16. Assistant Professor at Ilia State University since 2010. Author of several publications and technical reports.
