Lasha Bakradze, a Doctor of Phylosophy (PhD), was born in 1965, in Tbilisi, Georgia. He graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Faculty of Western Literature and Languages, direction of German Literature and Linguistics. He continued his study in Jena University ( Former Democratic  Republic of Germany) where he defended his diploma in Germanic Philology and Pedagogics (1989). Afterwards he  studied Theology in Bern University (Switzerland) and Politology in Potsdam University (Germany). He started working on his thesis in the Field of Modern and Contemporary History in Humboldt University (Berlin,Germany).  In 2002, he was awarded the Degree of Doctor by Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (Thesis: German-Georgian Relations During the World War I).

His working experience was mastered in different profile organizations: He worked as a referee of Culture and Science Programme in Tbilisi Goethe Institute; He covered International Relations in TV company Rustavi 2; herewith, he was the Head of Department of Storage and Conservation of Film Documents of Georgian National Film Center. Nowadays, he is the Head of Literture Museum of Tbilisi.

Lasha Bakradze is a co-founder (2010) and an active member of  Laboratory of  Soviet Past Research (sovlab.ge)

Lasha Bakradze was actively involved in academic life. He gave lectures in many different Georgian Universities (University of Movie and Theatre, ESM, Georgian Institute of Public Affairs, GIPA, Art Academy).

He has delivered hundreds of lectures and reports both abroad and in Georgia.
