Graduated from Tbilisi State University with the degree in Biology in 1967, specializing in Human and Animal Physiology. Graduated from the Academy of Sciences Institute of Physiology in 1970. Defended her PhD thesis in biological sciences in 1972 at the Institute of Physiology of Georgian Academy of Sciences on following topic: “The role of amygdaloid complex in the regulation of motivational-emotional behavior and short-term memory”. Worked at the abovementioned institute as the Junior (1971-1979), the Senior (1979-1987), the Leading (1987-2006), and the Main (2006-2011) scientific researcher. Earned ჰერ Doctoral degree in biological sciences in 1999 at the I. Beritashvili Institute of Physiology of Georgian Academy of Sciences on following thesis: “The role of amygdala in the integrative activity of the brain”. Has worked at Ilia State University as Associate Professor since 2006 (2006-2008), as a Full Professor (2008-2010) and Professor Emeritus (2010-present). She is an author of 65 scientific publications.
