In 1986 Marika Kapanadze graduated Physics Faculty (specialization – Biophysics), Tbilisi State University, Georgia. In 1988 – 1992 she did her post graduate studies at the Institute of Protein Research of Academy of Sciences Russia, Moscow, Puschchino. At 1993 she became of Doctor of Physics and Mathematics. Her Thesis was – Investigation of Stability of Human Pancreatic Polypeptide Mutants. In 1992-1997 Marika Kapanadze worked as a researcher at the Institute of Biophysics of Academy of Sciences of Georgia. In 2004-2011 she was as Physics expert and head of science group at the National Curriculum and Accesment Center. From 2012 the center became as a department of the Ministry of Education and Sciences, where she worked till 2014. She is an author of National Curricula in Physics and Science in Georgia. From 2008 she is a professor at Ilia State University. In 2010-2012 she was a coordinator of the TEMPUS project SALiS. She coordinates FP7 projects  PROFILES და Chain Reaction, also  TEMPUS project LeAGUe at Ilia State University. She is a board member of School of Education at the University.
