Nino Makharadze graduated V. Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatoire. From 1986 was a scientific worker and specialist at the Folk Music Department. In 2009 defended Doctoral dissertation: “Georgian Nana, Issues of Genre, Semantics and Articulation”. At various times was an invited lecturer at Tbilisi Conservatoire and Batumi Art University; a methodologist at the Folklore State Centre, scientific worker at the State Museum of Georgian Folk Song and Musical Instruemnts, scientific worker at E. Takaishvili State University of Culture and Arts, music expert at the Ministry of Education and National Examination Centre, a trainer at the Centre of Teachers’ Professional Developemnt (module “Georgian Music”), a consultant of the encyclopedia “Sakartvelo”.

Regularly participates in national and international conferences and symposia, is involved in local and international projects; the author of more than 40 publications (books, articles, notated collections, audioalbums). In 2015 her monograph “Homo- Polyphonicus – Polikarpe Khubulava) was recognized the best musicological work. Carries out active editorial-publication life, is a participant and leader of folkloristic field works, author of television programs, experienced in teaching Georgian folk music outside Georgia (UK, France, Belgium, Finland, Span); a member of the Georgian Composers’ Union; a member of ethnomusicological research group at Ilia State University; supervises doctoral works in ethnomusicology, delivers public lectures at Ilia State University, Giorgi Mtatsmindeli High School of Chant, State Museum of Georgian Folk Song and Musical Instruments, Tbilisi State Conservatoire. Regularly organizes meetings of students with folk ensembles at Ilia State University.
