Giorgi Bugadze

Born on 24 September 1956, In Tbilisi. In 1971-1975 he studied at I. Nikoladze Art College; In 1975-1981 he continued his studies in Tbilisi State Academy of Art, Faculty of Painting.1982-1985 -Post graduate course at Academy of Arts of USSR. Since 1980, he has been actively exhibiting his works in Georgia and abroad. Participated in group exhibitions and realized personal ones too. In 1986-1996 he was a secretary of the Union of Artists of Georgia and the Chairman of the Youth Union.

Work experience:

  • Teacher of drawing at the secondary school in Gldani village (1981-1985);
  • Nikoladze Art College – Head of the Course and Teacher (1985-1990);
  • Lecturer at Shota Rustaveli Theater and Film University, and Tbilisi Academy of Arts (1996-2000);
  • Professor, Vice Rector at Tbilisi State Academy of Arts(2001-2003);
  • Rector of Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, Professor (2003-2011);
  • Professor at Ilia University (2010-present)
