Dr. Joachim Puhe

In recognition of his international contributions to environmental science and education, Dr. Puhe was appointed Honorary Professor at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Medicine of Ilia State University, Tbilisi, Georgia, on May 27, 2016. In this role, he has supported teaching and curriculum development for graduate programs in ecology, forestry, and natural resource management, mentoring students and fostering international academic exchange and served as Coordinator of Forest and Natural Resources of the Ecology Institute.

Dr. Joachim Puhe is a forest scientist and environmental consultant whose work bridges fundamental ecological research and applied environmental management. Trained as a specialist in forest sciences, he has dedicated his career to understanding the complex interactions between plants, soils, and ecosystems, with a particular focus on how forests respond to environmental stressors such as climate change, pollution, and land-use pressures.
