Ivane Lomidze

Ivane Lomidze received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Ilia State University. He later studied at Lund University, where he also successfully completed a master’s program in Development Studies. His doctoral dissertation was written within the framework of a joint PhD program between the University of Münster and Ilia State University — Democracy, Human Rights, and Religion. He defended his dissertation, titled Liberal Realism: The Politics of Difference Beyond the Universalist-Contextualist Debate, with distinction. Since 2019, Ivane Lomidze has been teaching sociology at Ilia State University. In parallel, he also works as a researcher and is engaged in administrative activities at the University’s Center for Advanced Studies
