Ivane Lomidze

Ivane Lomidze received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Ilia State University. He later studied at Lund University, where he also successfully completed a master’s program in Development Studies. His doctoral dissertation was written within the framework of a joint PhD program between the University of Münster and Ilia State University — Democracy, Human Rights, and Religion. He defended his dissertation, titled Liberal Realism: The Politics of Difference Beyond the Universalist-Contextualist Debate, with distinction. Since 2019, Ivane Lomidze has been teaching sociology at Ilia State University. In parallel, he also serves as Head of the Department for Academic Development at Ilia State University.
