Sergo Ratiani was born on November 27, 1967. In 1984, he graduated from Tbilisi Ilia Chavchavadze #23 Public School. In 1984-1991, he studied at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, faculty of Philosophy and Psychology, specializing in Philosophy. In 1991-1995, he pursued postgraduate studies at the Department of History and Philosophy of the Faculty of Philosophy at Ivane Javakishvili Tbilisi State University. From 1993.05 to 1993.07, Sergo Ratiani served as an associate fellow at the Teacher Retraining Institute, Department of Religion. In 1993-1996, he delivered lectures at the Tbilisi Theological Academy. In 2001, he defended his Candidate of Sciences dissertation at Ivane Javakishvili Tbilisi State University. On August 26, 2002, he was appointed Head of the Department of Western Philosophy at Ilia Chavchavadze University of Language and Culture. From February 2, 2006, to October 1, 2008, Sergo Ratiani held the academic position of Associate Professor in the field of Philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences at the same university. From May 22, 2006, to November 28, 2006, he served as Acting Head of Administration. From November 28, 2006, to October 21, 2012, he served as Head of Administration at Ilia State University. Since October 1, 2008, he has held the academic position of Professor in the field of Philosophy at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Additionally, he was a member of the Parliament summoned in 2012-2016 and 2016-2020, as well as Deputy Head of the Education, Science and Culture Committee. In 2013-2016 he was a member of the United National Movement political union. In 2015, he served as a Political Secretary of the United National Movement. In 2015-2016, he also served as the Executive Secretary and the Acting Secretary General of the same political union. In 2017–2021, he was a member of the political council of the European Georgia political union.
