Eka Tkavashvili graduated from the Tbilisi Ilia Chavchavadze Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages with honors, majoring in English, in 1991. She was awarded the qualification of an English teacher. In 1996, she completed a post-graduate study program at the Tbilisi Ilia Chavchavadze State Institute of Western Languages and Cultures, specializing in English didactics. In 2022, she defended her doctoral thesis in the field of education and was awarded the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Education. Her doctoral thesis focused on the topic: “The Impact of Reflective Diary on School Teachers’ Qualifications”. She has received research grants from universities in Germany, Austria, Israel, and Estonia, and actively participates in international and local projects as a researcher. Since 2019, she has been a researcher at the Innovative Education Research Center of Ilia State University. Additionally, she is the author of scientific articles and several methodical manuals for English language teachers. Furthermore, she works as a trainer-consultant for the National Center for Teacher Professional Development and serves as a trainer, translator, and book club expert for the USAID Basic Education Program (RTI). She has also served as an evaluator for the National Center for Evaluation and Examinations since 2005. In 1999, she was awarded the Hornby scholarship, which enabled her to study in Cambridge, where she obtained the certificate of Trainer of Trainers of English Language Teachers. She is the board member of the English Language Teachers Association of Georgia

(ETAG) and served as the chairman of the Tbilisi branch in 2004. Additionally, she held the position of deputy editor of the newspaper from 2003 to 2009 and conducted training sessions for English language methodology modules from 1998 to 2009. From 2016 to 2018, she served as a certified trainer for the Millennium Challenge Corporation Foundation. She actively participated in various activities organized by the British Council for English language teachers. Notably, she served as a master-trainer for the course “21st Century Skills” as part of the project “Improved Skills for Stronger Societies,” implemented in the British Council’s training hubs. She also mentored English teachers to support their continuous professional development and advancement.
