He graduated from Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University. Faculty of History. Archaeology. Qualification: Historian.

He defended his doctoral thesis in 2017. Topic: “Political-economic and ethnological-confessional aspects of the numismatic material found in Svaneti. (B.C., 5th – 18th century AD), was published as a book in 2020.

2022 – until now he is the main scientific employee of the Caucasus Scientific Research Institute, 2012-2023 Ilia State University. guest lecturer. at the Faculty of Sciences and Arts. 2004-2022. National Museum of Georgia. Senior Curator of Numismatic Collections. 1995 – 2007 Chief Scientific Editor of the Georgian Encyclopedia named after Irakli Abashidze. Leading Scientific Editor of Archeology and Numismatics.

In 2012, he received an international scholarship from the German Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation. Within the framework of the scholarship, he worked on the numismatic collection of Mikheil Baratashvili (Barataev) preserved in the Bode Museum in Berlin. He is the author of: Svaneti, Akhaltsikhe, Martvili, Lechkhumi, Gori, Stefantsminda museums curator of numismatic exhibitions. In 2016, he was the author and curator of the concept of the permanent exhibition of the National Museum of Georgia.

Scientific interests / research interests

Ancient and Medieval Studies. Research of Georgian, Eastern, Byzantine and European numismatic material. Museum case. Archaeology, ethnology, glyptics, epigraphy.
