In 2012 George Papava received Master of Arts Degree in Social Sciences – Economics from the University of Chicago. He is currently working on his PhD thesis, Trade Policy in the Presence of Lobbying and Heterogenously Ignorant Voters, joint with Lasha Chochua. He also has a Master of Arts Degree in Economics (2008) from the International School of Economics – ISET.

At the University of Chicago George worked as a Teaching Assistant for multiple courses, including Public Policy Analysis, International Economics, Law and Economics, and Introduction to Finances.

George has successfully cooperated, as economic consultant and researcher, with several local and international organizations. In 2008-2009 he worked at the National Bank of Georgia in the Department of Macroeconomic Research.

At the Ilia State University George Papava leads the Business Administration programs at the Bachelor and Master levels. He teaches courses in Principles of Economics and Managerial Economics.
