Arts and Science, associate professor in Digital Humanities
Tamar Kalkhitashvili is a researcher in Digital Humanities at Ilia State University, Tbilisi. She holds a PhD (2023), defended with a dissertation titled The Epigraphic Corpus of Georgia (Digital Edition http://epigraphy.iliauni.edu.ge ), funded by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation. Her doctoral work focused on encoding multilingual inscriptions in XML according to EpiDoc guidelines and building the corpus using the EFES platform.
She has been a team member of several research projects, including the Digital Edition of an Annotated Parallel Corpus of Giorgi Athonite’s Recension of the Gospel of Matthew (ogb.iliauni.edu.ge), where she was responsible for coordinating the technical team, as well as university-funded projects such as Prosopography of the First Republic (1918–1921), Society for the Spread of Literacy among Georgians, Cultural Trace of Georgians in Germany, and the Child Language Corpus.
