Tamar Basishvili received her MSci in Biology (Human and Animal Physiology) from the Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University in 1996.  She earned her PhD in Life Sciences (Neurosciences) from the Ilia State University in 2012. Tamar Basishvili worked at Iv. Beritashvili Institute of Physiology. She works at Ilia State University from 2010. Tamar Basishvili completed her trainings in the Department of Biological Psychology, Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands and in the Laboratory of Sleep, Department of Neuropsychiatry, at the University Hospital of Geneva, Switzerland. In 2014, she received Fulbright Scholarship, for 6 months worked at the VAGLAHS, Medical Research, University of California, Los Angeles, USA. In 2016 Dr. Basishvili received Swiss Government Excellence Postdoctoral Scholarship, and performed her Postdoctoral studies at University of Basel Psychiatry Clincs, Center for Chronobiology. She works at the Tengiz Oniani Laboratory of Sleep-Wakefulness Study. Dr. Basishvili has authored or co-authored several scientific publications in peer reviewed journals.
