Oleksei Ianchukovi was born and educated in Lviv, Ukraine, and obtained his PhD in zoology and genetics at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kyiv. He had since worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Scotland, New Zealand, California and the Czech Republic. Over the last 7 years he has been running his own research program as a university faculty member in Türkiye, during which time a productive collaboration with the Ilia State University was also established.
