In 1998 graduated from S.S. Orbeliani State Pedagogical  University, faculty of Natural Sciences, Chemistry and Biology specialization (With honors). In 2005  defended her  PhD thesis in Zoology, Institute of Zoology;  Thesis  title – “Bio-ecological description of European vendace (Coregonus albula Linnaesus) in condition of Paravani Lake”. In 2007, 2010 and 2014, conducted post-doctoral research in University of Turku and Tvarminne Zoological station of Helsinki University (Finland), In 2011 at Suleyman Demirel University (Turkey, Isparta) and  Limnological Institute,  University of Konstanz (Germany). At ISU  works  since 2006.   From 2006 till up to date  simultaneously leads the Department of  Hydrobiology and Ichthyology at ISU Institute of Zoology.

In 2002, July-September,on  the topic of the dissertation  she worked on European vendace collection, in London,  in Darwin center of  Natural History  Museum.

In deferent years she holds  Soros (1998 and 1999), UNESCO / Keizo Obuchi (2007),  Coimbra Group (2010), German Exchange Program (DAAD)(2011), Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey  (TUBITAK)(2002, 2011), Shota Rustaveli National Foundations (2014)  stipends and scholarships.

2005-2006 she graduated  the National Democratic Institute (NDI), Future Woman Leaders Program.
