Position:Associate Professor
Mr. Meladze received his law degree from TSU and continued studies through Public Interest Law Inititive program at Columbia University School of Law – NY. After graduation he worked with Article 19 and Brennan center for Justice. He is a member of Liberty Institute since 2000 and works closely with various human Rights groups in Georgia as well as in various countris of Asia, Eastern Europe and South America. He was acting member of the advisory committee with Framework Convention of National Minorites – Council of Europe and served as member of the Board of Georgia’s Public Broadcaster. In 2005-06 he worked with EU supported working group on reform of legal education in Georgia.
Since 2004 Mr. Meladze teaches Media Law, Freedom of Religion, Human Rights and General principles of public Law at various state and private universities in Georgia. Since 2013 he works with Ilia State University initially as assistant Professor and later as Associate Professor. He is also director of Center for Constitutional Research.
Mr. Meladze has academic publication, translations, participates in academic conferences. His research projects have been supported at various times by US National Science Foundation, Oslo University, US State Department and The Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation.
