Since March 2020, Irine Guruli is an Associate Professor in Business Administration focused on Entrepreneurship at Ilia State University. Prior to this position, since 2015 she has been working as a visiting lecturer.

Since 2011, Irine has been working at the Economic Policy Research Center (EPRC), where she currently serves as a Deputy Director. She has 15-year experience in managing projects supported by international donor organizations. She has extensive experience in research, training, monitoring and advocacy activities. Irine is engaged in conducting research in the directions of economic policy, private sector development, SME policy and regulatory impact assessment.

Irine received her PhD Degree in 2019 from Ilia State University (Dissertation topic: Entrepreneurship and SME Development in Emerging Economies – the case of Georgia). She earned her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Jönköping University, in 2017-2018 she was a PhD visiting researcher at the same university with the support of the Swedish Institute. Irine holds a Bachelor Degree from Tbilisi State University with a major in English Language.
