During 2008-2012, Paata Brekashvili studied at PhD Program in Business Administration at Caucasus School of Business, Caucasus University (Tbilisi, Georgia) in partnership with J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University (Atlanta, GA, USA) with scholarship of US Department of State and Eurasia Foundation. In 2012 , he defended desertation under supervision of Lisa Schurer Lambert on topic of: “How Do Supervisors Perceive Employees Promised and Delivered Contributions? An Inducement-Contribution Model of Supervisors’ Reciprocation Decisions”. At different times, he has completed programs of North Carolina State University and Texas A&M University.
He is an active member of scientific and academic sociaties internationally. Since 2009 is a member of Academy of Management (USA). Since 2017 is a member of European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology. Since 2020 is a member of Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology (USA).
