Graduated from the faculty of Biology of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU), Georgia, in 1999. PhD in Botany from TSU, 2005. Thesis – Lichens as bioindicators of air pollution in Tbilisi. Work experience – Botany department at TSU (2001-2005), Tbilisi Institute of Botany (now Institute of Botany of Ilia State Univesity) (2003-2012). Major research questions – lichen and plant diversity, biological monitoring of environmental stress, species extinction risk assesment, ethnobiology. Published about 20 research papers. At Ilia State since 2008, emplyoed as an assistant professor, since 2013 as associate professor of botany.
