Tinatin Goletiani is a lawyer with specialization in international law. Tinatin has more that 15 years of professional experience working for the public secrtor as well as in international organizations coverig issues of international law and strengthening of democratic governance. She has held managerial positions in the Foreign Affairs and Justice ministries, State Audit Office, Office of Public Defender and Office of Prosecutor General. Throughout last 3 years, she has been consulting the Government of Georgia in the process of institutionalization of regulatory impact assessment in the framework of the EU-funded project.

Tinatin Goletiani has more that 10 years of academic experience teaching international law  related subjects in Georgia and abroad. Since 2002, she has been actively engaged in raising awareness of international law moot court competitions among Georgian students and academia.

Tinatin holds her Specialis’s degree from Kyiv International University (Ukraine (2002)). She obtained her Ll.M degrees in International Human Rights Law from the American University Washington College of Law (Washington DC, US (2009)) and International Dispute Settlmenet at the Queen Mary University of London (London, UK (2014)).

Tinatin is fluent in English, Spanish Russian and Ukrainian and has a working knowledge of Italian.

Scientific interests / research interests

  • Margins of use of force in modern internationa law;
  • Unilateral declarations as source of binding international obligations for states;
  • International treaty law;
  • Regulatory impact assessment as a tool for evidence-based decision making.
