In 1989, she graduated with honors from Department of History and Theory of Art at the Tbilisi State University. She has prepared graduate paper on Polish three-dimensional textile art in Lodz, Poland. In 1999, she received a PhD for thesis on the history of the Georgian tapestry. Since 1992 worked at Tbilisi State University, Asia and Africa Institute, Small Academy where she first in the country started to teach courses of Art of India, China and Japan. Since 2002, she is active in museum field, involved in ongoing museum reform. From 2006 until 2015, she was director of the State Silk Museum. She is co-founder and board member of The ICOM National Committee in Georgia. She has years of experience in NGOs, the main areas sequentially: Chinese culture (Society of Georgian-Chinese Friendship), textile art (Georgian Textile Group), museum (Association of Georgian Museums, ICOM Georgia). Since 2010 works in the Ilia State University.
