SCHOOL OF NATURAL SCIENCES AND MEDICINE
ILIA STATE UNIVERSITY

Direction:Endocrinology and Pediatric Endocrinology
Position:Associate Professor

Dr. Mumladze received a PhD in Ecology at Ilia State University (2013). Since the establishment of Ilia State University, Dr. Mumladze has worked as an assistant dean at the Faculty of Life Science until 2010, as a research associate until 2013, as an Assistant professor until 2018, and as an Associate Professor associate from 2018 until now. Since 2003, Dr. Mumladze has been working in the Institute of Zoology in various positions, and since 2019, he has been serving as director of the Institute of Zoology. From 2022 he is an Editor-in-chief of the biodiversity research journal “Caucasiana (https://caucasiana.pensoft.net/).

Scientific interests / research interests

The scientific interests and current projects of Dr. Mumladze are related to biological diversity, distribution, and community composition. Based on model organisms (including molluscs, mites, several taxa of arthropods, and fishes), he is working to identify biodiversity patterns and structural mechanisms, interspecific relationships, biogeography and phylogeography in the Caucasus region.
